Wireless telegraphy

The rescue of the passengers on board the steamer Republic, has brought into prominence the utility of wireless telegraphy, and may hasten its adoption by the South African steamship lines.
The lack of stations, however, still forms a drawback.
Its discussion is expected shortly, but at present it is impossible to say if the new Union Castle boats will be equipped, but the value of the system for communication between steamers is recognised.

When these guys talk about wireless telegraphy, don't forget they were referring to Morse Code.
